A charger is the survival kit of any phone. Apple just unveil a brand new Dual-port 35W USB-C charger. It is equipped to put 35W of power in a single device. It comes with two ports powered by gallium nitride technology (GaN). Speculations are there that the charger will also be smaller in size.’ There is a reliable source for every sort of information for Apple. The company accidentally comes up with the information by throwing a live support document for the Apple Dual-port 35W power adapter. It somehow manages to snapshot it before the company pulls it off. It says that this is Apple’s first-ever dual-port charger.
Other reports also claim that this is probably the variant about which the analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweets last month, which he will arrive in 2022. The charger comes up with a lot of possibilities. With Apple 35W you can fast-charge an iPhone 13 Pro Max, or an M1 MacBook Air and a watch, Apple watch, or an iPad and an Apple Watch together at a slower rate or fast according to your need. It is Apple’s first-ever GaN charger that comes with a 140W power adapter. It is supposed to ship with the new MacBook Pro 16-inch. In addition to GaN technology, it is the first-ever charger of Apple to come up with USB type C.
Specifications of Dual-port 35W USB-C charger
Talking about the specifications of the charger, it comes with a dual-USB-C-shaped hole. This is the much-awaited charger for Apple users. Apple carries a USB-C port charger also known as Belkin chargers but has a single port only. Other than this Apple also carries a 32W charger with USB-A and USB-C ports. The Belkin’s dual-port charger is surely Apple’s premier accessories partner. Though, it does not mean that it is the best Dual-port USB-C charger available on the market. One can obviously find dual USB-C chargers with much higher speeds. Some of the important points to note is that the charger will provide a total of 35W of power, not 35W of power per port. The support doc shared by 9to5Mac suggests that each port will operate in one of the following four modes of operation: either 5VDC/3A or 9VDC/3A, 15VDC/2.33A, or 20VDC/1.75A.
The Apple dual-port USB-C is the need of the hour. This will easily allow two devices to charge at the same time, it can work like 15W and 27W, or 27W and 5W, but which combination will work is a matter of time after the launch of the charger. The information Apple users need to know is that the charger will not come with a USB-C cable.
