Google stated that Google Workspace, formerly known as G Suite (and with a number of additional features), will be available to everyone, including those with free Google accounts. It’s essentially the same Google tools you’re already used to (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, Chat, and so on), but with a new wrapper and better integrations between them.

Google Workspace’s VP of marketing Kelly Waldher and VP of engineering Aparna wrote in a blog announcement – “Over the last year, we’ve delivered innovations that bring together the content, communications, and tasks that help millions of businesses, nonprofits, and classrooms transform how they collaborate, make the most of their time, and have more impact. Now we’re bringing those same innovations to everyone else.”

There will be a new premium service for individual users who want more from their Workspace, although Google hasn’t even said how much it will cost. (Update: A Google Workspace Individual subscription will cost $9.99 per month, with a $7.99 introductory rate.) Users will gain access to “premium features, such as smart booking services, professional video meetings. And tailored email marketing, with much more on the coming,” according to the company. In the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, and Japan, this new paid service will be available “soon.”
