If a teenager is squandering for too long on the explore page of Instagram looking at posts with a certain theme, the platform will show a notification proposing that they check on the other types of posts instead.
Instagram states the feature “is designed to encourage teens to discover something new and excludes certain topics that may be associated with appearance comparison.” As displayed in the picture of the feature, the Instagram users will get a notification that reminds them to “Choose what to explore next”. With a number of posts, they can select from instead. Tapping a post will let the users scroll through another stream of content that is not according to the topic the teenager was earlier looking at.

An outside study quoted by Instagram shows that 58.2 percent of defendants “agreed or strongly agreed that nudges made their social media experience better by helping them become more mindful of their time on-platform.” Instagram states its personal test of the feature displays the same trend — over a period of one week, Instagram saw one in every five users exchange topics when they get a nudge.
“We want to make sure people feel good about the time that they spend on Instagram… This is a way to softly encourage that,” Adam Mosseri, the head of Instagram, stated in an interview on CBS Mornings. “No matter what topic you’re going deep into, if you’re going particularly deep, we let you know, and we suggest some other topics.”
Also, Instagram is operating to bring its Take a Break feature. This feature initiates teenagers to pass time apart from Instagram, to Reels in a much more exciting way. It is presently testing the feature in the US, UK, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Also it decides to roll it out widely “later this summer.”
At last, Instagram is forming some changes to its current parental controls. The platform will now let parents send invites to their kids asking to obtain access to parental supervision tools. Something only the teenagers were earlier able to access. Parents can also see information on what kinds of posts or account their child reports. Also, receive more control over the time their child spends on Instagram.
