Netflix recently released “Squid Game” which is its biggest series launch of all time. Netflix stated in its tweet on late Tuesday that the much-hyped South Korean drama show attracted 111 million viewers globally since its release on 17th.

Squid game became the first Netflix show to top 100 million viewers in the first month. Earlier ‘Bridgerton’ was on the top list. The series easily smashed the previous record from “Bridgerton”. When Bridgerton was released, it was watched by  82 million households in the first 28 days.

This show in spite of being a Korean show quickly became a hit in numerous countries, not least in its home country. In its home country, a local broadband provider actually sued Netflix. This happened because the show led to a spike in traffic.

But this series is not for every kind of audience. Faint-hearted people should avoid it. The plot of the series talks about fictional contestants competes in a series of children’s games, in the hope that they’ll win heaps of cash. If they fail to do so the masked guards in red jumpsuits will kill them.

One important thing to note here is that just because 111 million people viewed Netflix, that doesn’t mean they watched the entire series from start to finish. As per Netflix’s policy even if you log in to Netflix for 2 minutes it will count in its figures of streaming.
