Spotify launches new Wear OS app provides connect features, music controls

Spotify declared today that it is rolling out a new Wear OS app in the upcoming week. The standalone attribute OS app is a huge improvement over the preceding Spotify app for Android Wear, that made much to be desirable that consumers were relying on third-party apps to play their audio via the streaming services. The new Spotify for Wear OS brings better controllers for audio playback and surfing playlists. Most of all, it includes Spotify Link features which permit you to play audio from the speakers that are connected.

The UI stays fairly minimal, with choices to either pause or skip tracks and rewind 15 seconds in case you are listening to a podcast. It’s possible to access recently played tracks, also there’s a tiny heart icon which allows you store tracks to playlists. The apps works with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and LTE, which means that you may listen to podcasts and music from the telephone, notebook, Sonos speakers, or some other device you’ve setup using Spotify Connect. Unlike the Spotify app for Samsung Gear, however, it does not yet possess offline playback.

With this news, Spotify has also announced a partnership with Fossil to preinstall the app on Fossil Gen 4 smartwatches and Michael Kors Access Runway smartwatches beginning in November. It is possible to download Spotify on Google Play here.
