  • Study the air quality in your location with the help of Google Maps

Study the air quality in your location with the help of Google Maps. With air quality getting worse lately, especially in the north, it’s a good idea to check how unhealthy the air outside is before planning any outdoor activities.

We all use Google Maps for directions at different times of the day. But this app is more than just directions and traffic information. One such feature lets you know the air quality around you so you can make an informed decision before leaving home.

And why? With air quality getting worse lately, especially in the north, it’s a good idea to check how unhealthy the air outside is before planning any outdoor activities.

Steps to study it

Thinking about how to check the air quality in your area using Google Maps? Consider the following steps:

  1. Go to Google Maps on your mobile phone

2. Select the Layers button in the top right corner of your phone’s screen, below the search bar.

3. Here you’ll find options for map type (standard, satellite, terrain, map detail), street view, public transportation, and more.

4. Under Map Details, select Air Quality

Google displays local real-time air quality based on data from the National Air Quality Index

In other news, Google recently launched a platform to display flood forecasts, or “FloodHub”. The platform shows the areas and times when flooding is likely to occur, informing people of natural disasters and allowing authorities to help effectively. The tech giant has also expanded its AI flood forecasting service to 18 countries in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia. These AI-powered flood forecasting services were first launched in India in 2018. Google launched a flood forecasting service in 2018 to protect people from disasters and natural disasters.
