The Nintendo Switch firmware

The Nintendo Switch received quite a few firmware updates in the past 6 months, most of them being small. However, that doveryesn’t mean that there haven’t been any major updates. In fact, a big update released a couple of weeks ago.

Well, Nintendo today released the new Nintendo Switch firmware update tonight. When you download the update the console should be at version 14.1.0. This update is not as big as the last one but the update does add Platinum Point Notification Settings. The official patch notes are down below.

“Platinum Point Notification Settings” has been added under Notifications in System Settings.

Unclaimed Platinum Points earned from completing Nintendo Switch Online missions on your Nintendo Switch system will generate notifications.

  • Nintendo Switch Online missions and rewards are not there for some countries and regions. For more info, see How to Complete a My Nintendo Mission.
  • Setting these notifications to OFF will hide the notification sent when there are unclaimed Platinum Points.

Nintendo just released a new firmware update for the Switch. It bumps the system up to version 14.1.0.

As per Nintendo’s support page, Nintendo has added “platinum point notification settings” under the notifications in the Switch’s system settings. The official patch notes go into more detail:

Some very unique Unclaimed Platinum Points earned from completing Nintendo Switch Online missions on your Nintendo Switch system will generate notifications.

Nintendo Switch Online missions and rewards are still not available in some countries and regions though.

You can set these notifications OFF will hide the notification sent when there are unclaimed Platinum Points.

This update comes from last month, which added a “groups” feature to the software menu and made some adjustments to Bluetooth audio volume.
